Yin Yoga and Acupuncture Workshops

I now offer Yin Yoga and Acupuncture workshops: a distinctive fusion of two of my favourite practices.

Combining Yin Yoga with auricular acupuncture, then finishing with Yoga Nidra, creates an even more profound experience of the core qualities of both modalities.

Why is this combination so powerful?

Yoga and acupuncture work particularly well alongside one another, as both seek to re-establish balance and harmony across the body, mind and energy systems.

Why Yin Yoga and Acupuncture work so well together

  1. Energy flow (Prana and Qi)

Whether the body's energetic systems are understood as Prana or Qi, both Yoga and acupuncture engage with the movement of energy throughout the body.

  • Yoga supports the flow of prana, or life energy, encouraging balance through breathwork (pranayama), postures (asanas) and meditation.
  • Acupuncture works with qi, a concept similar to prana, along meridians or energy channels. Stimulating particular points can help to remove blockages and encourage qi to flow freely.
  1. Stress reduction

Modern lifestyles can be intensely demanding, with many of us living in high-pressure, fast-paced settings. Reducing stress often means consciously seeking out practices that support relaxation.

  • Both yoga and acupuncture can reduce stress and encourage relaxation. Yoga settles the nervous system through mindful movement and breathing, whereas acupuncture eases tension and regulates the body's stress response.
  1. Holistic healing
  • Yoga and acupuncture each approach health holistically, considering emotional and mental wellbeing alongside physical symptoms. By restoring internal balance, they support the body's natural healing processes.
  1. Strengthening the effects of each modality
  • Following an acupuncture session, yoga can help sustain the openness and energy flow created by the needles.
  • In the same way, acupuncture can deepen yoga's effects by working with particular imbalances, enabling a more effective and deeper practice.
  1. Pain relief
  • Both yoga and acupuncture can help manage and relieve chronic pain. Yoga improves flexibility, strength and posture, while acupuncture can target painful areas directly and encourage the release of endorphins.

A complementary approach to wellbeing

Together, yoga and acupuncture form a powerful synergy that addresses both the physical and energetic dimensions of wellbeing, making this a popular pairing for people seeking holistic health practices.
