Ma Akash of Shakti Yoga and I offer this eight-week course exploring the Chakra system. Chakras are subtle psychic energy centres situated within the central nervous system, along the spine and in the brain.
They regulate the functions of the body and mind, shaping our daily behaviour and decisions. They influence our physical and psychological disposition, while also acting as gateways to the spiritual dimension of our being. Learning about these powerful energy centres and the way they function can therefore be valuable.
When we work with them consciously, we can develop far greater insight into ourselves.
By taking part in the 50 hour Chakra Immersion Course, you will study a range of in-depth practices designed to stimulate and purify the chakras, as well as ways to bring this knowledge into everyday life.

Venue: Shakti Yoga Therapy Centre, Fourways, and online via Zoom
Cost: R5600 (including an in-depth 80-page manual, neti pot and 50-hour certificate)
(R4700 for full upfront payment before 30 September.)
A 50% deposit of R2800 must be paid before 30 September 2024. The remaining instalment of R2800 is due before 25 November 2024; a 50% deposit is required to secure your place. For full upfront payment, the fee is reduced to R4700.

Understanding the Chakra system
During this Hatha-based training, we take a holistic approach to understanding how the chakras develop our mind, body and spirit. The Sanskrit word Chakra translates literally as a wheel or disc. In yoga, meditation and Ayurveda, it describes wheels of energy throughout the body, beginning at the base of the spine and rising towards the crown of the head.
Our 50 hour Chakra immersion course examines Yoga’s deeper and more subtle dimensions. Every week, you will investigate the significant physical, energetic and mental changes that may be supported through work with the relevant Chakras.
The course is ideal for Yoga teachers, Therapists, dedicated yoga practitioners or anyone wishing to expand their understanding of the Chakra system. It welcomes participants at every level of yoga experience.

The 50hr Chakra Immersion course holds full accreditation with Yoga Alliance India.

After completing the course, you will be awarded a 50 hour / level certificate accredited with Yoga Alliance International. Both the course and Shakti Yoga Teaching Academy and Therapy Centre are accredited with (YAI), the ONLY organisation whose yoga teacher certifications are recognised by the government of India. Once you have completed the course, you may choose to register individually with YAI for the 50-level certification and join its global network of teachers.
