Dance Awake Movement Immersion with Rose Hay at the Honeywood Farm Yoga Retreat, 22–25 September 2023
I am thrilled that Rose will be collaborating with me again at the forthcoming Honeywood Farm Yoga Retreat. She has always been a vital part of the retreat, and this year she will also facilitate a Dance Awake Movement Immersion practice.
Rose shares a profound bond with nature, and she flourishes when she can deepen this connection by sharing it with others.
Rose completed her foundational yoga training at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Madurai, India, in 2012. Since then, she has continued exploring and immersing herself in a wide range of yoga and dance forms. A qualified Yoga 4 Kids teacher as well, Rose has taught her own intuitive approaches to yoga for 11 years.
She teaches weekly yoga sessions and monthly dance events from her Off-the-Grid yoga and dance studio in Suurbraak, Super Natural AbunDance Yoga Studio. (@rosehay7).
Rose is deeply committed to Conscious Dance and works as a Dance Awake Facilitator. For more information about Dance Awake
With a particular interest in bringing emotional and energetic dimensions into the physical body, Rose sees embodiment as the reason we are here.
Conscious Dance offers a powerful therapeutic response to the stresses of modern life. It creates a distinctive and safe setting in which to process both our personal and collective stories. Physiologically, dancing strengthens the immune system and lowers cortisol levels, helping people to de-stress.
Magic happens when people let go and dance!
The Dance Awake Movement Immersion class will combine an eclectic selection of music to take you on a musical journey. This musical wave will guide you through the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. Along the way, you will be invited to investigate the thoughts and emotions that are present within you, expressing them through shapes, gestures and movement.
The dance will be gently facilitated, beginning with yoga stretches to warm up and light guidance to help you arrive in your body. There are no moves that can be done correctly or incorrectly. Instead, you will be invited to explore free-form movement dance.
